Here is a list of some of my favorite local restaurants. Most are within short walking distance or a few minutes drive from Casa Nivana.

This is a great place to enjoy a great pizza and salad while watching the sunset just a few yards away. Mango margaritas are their specialty and you can also enjoy the use of their heated pool ! A bit pricier than other local restaurants but worth every peso ! A few minutes drive from Casa Nivana.
P.s. This restaurant has been closed for the past few months so not sure if it is has reopened as of 2021.

Freesouls Cerritos Restaurant

Barracuda Cantina is my go to favorite in Cerritos ! It is also just a 90 second drive (yes I timed it) from Casa Nivana. Dany and Karla are the owners and they will make you feel like family the minute you walk in the door. Tacos are their specialty as are their amazing Margaritas and Mojitos. There is always a fun and friendly crowd here, often with live music playing. A must go to if you are staying in Cerritos !

Cerritos AvenueBarracuda Cantina is my go to favorite in Cerritos ! It is also just a 90 second drive (yes I timed it) from Casa Nivana. Dany and Karla are the owners and they will make you feel like family the minute you walk in the door. Tacos are their specialty as are their amazing Margaritas and Mojitos. There is always a fun and friendly crowd here, often with live music playing. A must go to if you are staying in Cerritos !
This is a wonderful "farm-to-table" restaurant that serves delicious organic meals. Set in the middle of a lush garden, it is a "must go" dining experience. There are always a wide variety of daily meal specials as well as a large selection of mixed drinks and cocktails.

This is my favorite place to have a drink and watch a sunset directly on Cerritos Beach. The views are incredible, the staff are so friendly, and the food and drink are delicious and very reasonably priced.

My favorite place to go to on a Sunday morning for great coffee and a wonderful chance to connect with the local community ! Located in the neighboring town of Pescadero, you will find delicious breakfasts, a great coffee selection and a wonderful atmosphere to start your day. There is usually a live band playing on Sundays and a great craft and farmers market with local growers and artisans selling their wares.

Sightseeing
There are some wonderful nearby towns and cities to visit from Casa Nivana. Having a car is definitely the best way to travel here and will allow you to enjoy a variety of wonderful destinations during your stay.
This quaint historic city is a must see while you are here in Baja ! Plenty of wonderful restaurants, cafes and art galleries to while the way an afternoon. There is often live music in certain restaurants and bars in the evening so check out baja western onion online for special community and cultural events in the area.

This is a wonderful hour and 15 minute drive from Casa Nivana and a not to be missed beach and bay. Located just 20 minutes outside of the city of La Paz, Balandras Bay lies in the Sea of Cortez and has beautiful clear turquoise waters await and wonderful white sandy beaches.

This is a wonderful hour and 15 minute drive from Casa Nivana and a not to be missed beach and bay. Located just 20 minutes outside of the city of La Paz, Balandras Bay lies in the Sea of Cortez and has beautiful clear turquoise waters await and wonderful white sandy beaches.
Another wonderful beach to visit when you are on the La Paz side of Baja is Tecolote Beach ! Just a few minutes drive from Balandra Bay, Tecolote is a great place to enjoy a seaside lunch and drink and while away the hours in beautiful clear warm waters .

Surfing
Mario's Surf school is located right on Cerritos Beach, only a 10 minute walk (3 minute drive) from Casa Nivana. Mario was the first surfing school on Cerritos Beach and is still considered by most to be the most reputable. Enjoy a surf lesson from a local or if you are already a pro, there are surfboards to rent as well !
Great for beginner surfers of all ages.
Paddleboards can also be rented from the same location.
