Sightseeing and places to visit
Many guests like to spend their whole stay at the cottage and enjoy the wildlife and walks on offer from the doorstep. However, others like to explore, so I hope that this guide tells you a little bit about the local area and where to go for local supplies.
The nearest place to get groceries (Tesco) or there is a deli called Vans on the main street which has organic vegetables, bread and a wonderful cheese selection. There are also some nice cafes, Arvon Ale house and the Albert Hall theatre.

A small farming town, worth a visit. There is an excellent Butcher (Morgan's), two Co-ops for food, a selection of cafes and pubs, a cinema, assorted shops and the river Wye.

A nice little town on the way to the Elan Valley. Has an excellent butcher, Co-op, assorted deli style shops, cafes, pubs and some antique shops.

Amazing lakes - lots of walks to choose from and many are flat and on paths.

A lovely town with more substantial shopping, pubs and cafes. Very scenic route over the tops of the mountains if you want. Famous Brecon beacons and jazz festival in the summer but both can be touristy.

Famous mountains and can be touristy but Brecon is a nice town and worth visiting if you want to return to civilisation!

A lovely little fishing village which tumbles down to the sea. There is a nice coastal walk to Aberaeron and a bus that takes you back!

Excellent butcher in Rhayader (now called Watsons) and Morgans the butcher in Builth Wells is fantastic too with friendly service. Sadly the butcher in Llandrindod has closed.
