Access to the beach is easy with multiple carparks close to the sand. There are shady spots under the trees and a pontoon to swim to not far from the shore. Good family beach.
There is also a nice waterfall walk which is short but steep in places on a formed track.

For kiwi spotting, enter the park just before closing, take a red light torch and quietly explore the ecology trail. We have seen kiwis there on multiple occasions.

The clifftop walk passes homes, through a small amount of bush and close to a little stony beach where seals sometimes hang out. There are a few stairs with one steep set. Approx 2.6 k's return and takes around 50mins.
