which are settlements created during the waning days of British rule over Malaysia in the mid-1950s.
綠悠遊民宿 Riyo Guesthouse is close to the city center, in a quiet neighborhood, a mere 10 minute drive into Ipoh town, yet nearby to most eatery( 賓如港新村food hunt)and attractions.

Night time activities in Ipoh is quite limited, but if you are too full after dinner, we recommend you to visit the Ipoh railway station, take a walk in the garden, let the breeze calms you down, take some memorable pictures, watch the water fountain show which starts after 8pm.

History museum: Have your breakfast white coffee in Thean Chun or Sin Lean Lee, or even Sun Yuan Loong not far from here, then visit concubine lane and take a pre-book tour in Han Chin Pet Soo.
Pre-book a tour from their website, view the historical building, listen to the stories during the Tin mining period of Ipoh, watch documentaries and old furniture in the site. It worth a visit!

Grab or drive
If you were not driving, Grab is more recommended compared to Ipoh local taxi, due to its reasonable fare.It's easy to get grab in Ipoh for a reasonable fare. For example, grab from Ipoh railway station to Riyo Homestay is about RM 6.
There are transit bus service along the main road opposite the house, but for convenience, it is advisable to have your own car or call grab car.

Train to/ from Ipoh
Recommended because the railway station is in the city centre, which is convenient and near our house. But it is quite often fully booked, so early booking is recommended.

Bus or train?
If you are coming/leaving Ipoh, train is more recommended compared to long distance bus. It is due to Ipoh’s long distance bus terminal , Aman Jaya, located far from the city ; while Ipoh railway station is just in the city centre. Meanwhile, train will save your time and taxi fare when you reach in Ipoh or before you depart from Ipoh.

Srimaju is the only long distance bus which will take you to Ipoh city centre for FREE! All the other bus companies will drop you off at Amanjaya bus terminal, which located almost 20km from the Ipoh city. But during purchasing bus ticket in Srimaju, please mention that you want to drop off in Ipoh ( Srimaju main office) instead of Amanjaya. Buy the ticket earlier from Srimaju, it runs out fast!

Leaving Gua Tempurung
If you plan to visit Gua Tempurung, which is about 15km from the city, there are various ways to get there such as bus，grab car etc. But after a tiring few hours of challenging tour in Gua Tempurung, to leave there and return to Ipoh city, please pre-arrange your transportation

You can make a phone call for taxi +605 2534188 which fare is fixed and trustable. Taxi service centre is reachable from 7:30am to 11:30pm. Taxi fare from KTM railway station to Riyo is about RM12, from Aman Jaya to Riyo is RM 30, from airport to Riyo is RM 20.
