Food Scene
It is an excellent and reasonable place for breakfast, lunch or just an espresso. Delicious, fresh croissants; wonderful, reasonably priced daily lunch menu. For breakfast I recommend the "sweet menu" (espresso, croissant, jam, butter), or the fresh spinach and cheese omelette with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.

Delicious traditional and international cuisine at excellent prices—lovely atmosphere and service. Please allow me to recommend the goat cheese and roasted almonds stuffed chicken breast, buttered baby carrots with honey and mashed potatoes (Kuřecí prsíčko plněné kozím sýrem a praženými mandlemi, baby karotka na másle a medu se šťouchanými bramborami). Be sure to order a Budweiser here (as manufactured for the last 1000 years in Pilsen, Czech Republic).

This is an excellent nearby Indian restaurant. The daily all-you-can-eat lunch is fine, but I suggest that you order from the menu. The food is great, as is the service and atmosphere. Reasonably priced.

Functionalist firebrand Adolf Loos, who wrote Ornament and Crime in 1908 (http://gwu.edu/~art/Temporary_SL/177/pdfs/Loos.pdf), was an early, vehement Austrian voice against Art Nouveau. A guided visit to his nearby Villa Müller—Müllerova vila in Czech—is likely to draw you into Loos' powerful, misunderstood aesthetic and rarefied humour. Highly recommended. Books by Loos are also available to read in your apartment.

Not only does this gorgeous 1911 building house the works of Czech Art Nouveau and Symbolist sculptor and architect František Bílek, it was designed by Bílek himself and originally served as his residence and studio. An afternoon visit will endear you to Bílek's life and work.

Feminist novelist Božena Benešová's final residence, where she lived and toiled for many years, in front of which is perched a life-size sandstone bust—a hop, skip and jump from her final resting place over at Hřbitovní správa Bubeneč.

This is a very beautiful place to visit for a stroll with Hyperborean views. There are several restaurants and pubs at the monastery, plus an utterly amazing, gorgeous library which you might be lucky enough to visit. Go to the back of the monastery and take the walkway down toward the city—this might be the most beautiful walk of your life.
