Sightseeing
Simply beautiful - you can walk there from Spa park if you enjoy a small day walk. It's an easy walk from our house if you don't have a car to get to Spa Park. 5 km to the falls - round trip 10km, albeit very easy. Also, very easy to drive to off the main Taupo road.

This is one of my personal favs, especially in the winter. A simply stunning hot pool to sit and enjoy a 'wallow'.

Food scene
An awesome place for Tapas and a great general atmosphere. I highly recommend it. Also, if you're a wine drinker, it has an outstanding selection and the service is second to none.

Undoubtedly THE BEST pizza in Taupo! Woodfired pizza's, they are simply the best. On the lake location, it's a rustic environment and they often have live music on the weekends. In the summer, it's a great place to sit outside and enjoy the water. In the winter, they have the place cozy with lots of heating. Definitely one I highly recommend. Also a place that welcomes dogs if you're traveling with your furry family member.

In the summer, it's a great place to sit outside and enjoy the water. In the winter, they have the place cozy with lots of heating. Definitely one I highly recommend. Drive or walk
Taupo is an easy place to drive around. If you stay close enough to town, like at our place, it's easy to walk to the lake or to town. If you like a drink in the evening, it pays not to rely too heavily on Taxi's as they can be a little hit and miss when the weekends are really busy.

Spa Park hot pools
A gorgeous park with a natural hot spring. It's free to visit and enjoy. I just ask that all travelers take their belongings and rubbish away with them.

The 'Lion's Walk'
This is a lovely paved walk around the lake. It's a great way to see different aspects of Taupo from different parts of the lake walkway. There are little spots to swim (in the summer) if you are walking around, it's good to take a backpack and pick a spot to sit and soak in the beauty of the lake.
