Fortified tower from 13th century built to guard southern gate of Gradec town wall. The name LOTRŠČAK is derived from Latin campana latrunculorum, meaning "thieves' bell", referring to a bell hung in the tower in 1646 to signal the closing of the town gates. Since 1 January 1877, the cannon placed in tower is fired to mark midday, also to give the sign for exact noon for the bell-ringers of the city's churches. Today every day exactly at noon you can see and hear cannon fireing.
