Just tell the staff you are heading to the cafe and they let you right on through at no charge and then you can sit right at the south end of the beach and look over bondi.

Great modern Italian food, fresh burrata, authentic pizza and anti-pasti. Good atmosphere, great banquette for groups too. Try and book in advance! Mid price range.

Tiny restaurant with great personal service, good wine and homemade food. Good for couples or small groups. I recommend booking for more than 2 people.
They have a Monday night Meatballs and Malbec special for $20 which is definitely worth it.

Great inner harbour beach, you have to access this via the local library or council and head down the stairs towards the harbour. The cafe isn't great but it is very reasonable, the coffee is ok and it has one of the best views. You can get a coffee, swim and a great view away form the crowds.
