Ba was first incorporated as a town in 1939. The cane-belt town is situated along the Kings Road on the Western coast of Viti Levu, Fiji’s largest island.
Ba is a 35-minute drive to Lautoka, Fiji’s second largest city also called the Sugar City and 1 hour’s drive to Nadi where Fiji’s International Airport is located.
Ba Town is named after the province it falls under. The Ba Province is headed by two paramount chiefs; Ratu Filimoni Lagivola Nale of Soro ko Ba village, located along the King’s Road towards Tavua Town and the Tui Ba of Nailagi village, located along the Kings road towards Lautoka.
