Ken Lockwood Gorge is right outside our door. One of New Jerseys best kept secrets has to be the Ken Lockwood Gorge. If you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful, and nature packs place, then this area is perfect for you. Once you have parked you will immediately see fisherman walking around or in the water. The state stocks the South Branch of the Raritan Biking through the gorge either on the Columbia Trail or the dirt road is also a highly suggested activity, especially in the fall. Do not try riding a road bike through here though, a cruiser or mountain bike is needed.River every year with rainbow trout, brown trout, and more.

The Columbia Trail is just steps from the cottage's doorstep. It is very easy to follow and you will definitely have company while on it. It is very popular during the morning and evenings with walkers, runners, and bikers. You can take the trail all the way to Long Valley or High Bridge. Also, a great, short 2.5 mile ride to have breakfast or lunch in Califon. The trail is my favorite during the Fall for fantastic views of the foliage. Winter enthusiast will enjoy the trail when there is snow for the great for xc skiing.
