The extravagant temple of Sri Mahamariamman is designed with Spanish and Italian tiles that stand out amidst the usual Hindu temples designed in stone. Precious stones and gold also make up a lot of the decorative elements in this temple. While the noise outside is incessant, the temple has a sense of tranquillity where the air is filled with incense and floral fragrances and the floors and walls are cool. You’ll find here 228 Hindu idols and hand-painted motifs depicting Hindu folklore. Location: 163, Jalan Tun H. S. Lee, Kuala Lumpur Timings: Daily 06:00 – 21:00 Entry fees: Free.
