Sightseeing
This is the absolute best park in the city, in my opinion! It’s about a five minute drive SE of the house and well-worth it. The 2.5 mile loop around the forest is flat and fun to walk, run or bike, particularly as it is surrounded by Lake Washington. There are several access points for swimming, too, as well as meandering trails through the middle of the park.

A 10-15 minute drive south of the townhouse, this Japanese garden is an incredible South Seattle gem. The meandering paths and bridges provide a great level of interest, and there are lots of books and crannies to explore. I love taking a picnic down to enjoy on the grass and spending a few hours at the park.
