Take a walk around men an tol which is a small formation of standing stones. Local legend has it that it's supposed to have a fairy or piskie guardian who can make miraculous cures. In one story, a changeling baby was put through the stone in order for the mother to get the real child back. Evil piskies had changed her child, and the ancient stones were able to reverse their evil spell. Local legend claims that if at full moon a woman passes through the holed stone seven times backwards, she will soon become pregnant. Another legend is that passage through the stone will cure a child of rickets. For centuries, children with rickets were passed naked through the hole in the middle stone nine times. You will often see tourists and locals alike crawling through the stones!

Chun Quoit dates from the Neolithic period, over 5000 years ago and would have been built some time between 4000 BC and 2000 BC. Four huge stones support a capstone to give a fully enclosed structure. Some evidence of its surrounding circular mound are still visible. This would have covered the whole structure with stones extending to a diameter of over 42 feet (13 metres). Take a walk around it in any weather and feel the history around you

This is a great walk from the barn and will take roughly an hour and if you take a picnic there is a seating area in the ancient village. It's an English heritage site and there is an entrance fee but it's worth the visit to see this iron age site

Beautiful little cove tucked away on the coast - about a 30 minute drive from the barn with parking at the cove and walks along the coastal path in either direction. There is a pub serving food in Lamorna and a cafe by the beach

A must visit! An amazing hand-built theatre carved into the rocks by Rowena Cade who built it herself. Spend an afternoon visiting or go to their website to book tickets for a performance and turn up with a picnic an hour before the show to watch the view. Often you will see Dolphins in the bay or basking sharks from the top of the cliffs.

Sennen Cove boasts one of the loveliest stretches of sand in Cornwall, Whitesands Beach, and still retains much of the atmosphere of an old fishing village. It is a popular spot with surfers and hosts the local surfing club. It is lovely on a sunny day or equally on a wintery blustery day https://www.classic.co.uk/webcams/cornwall/sennen.html

A must visit place of course - its very busy in Summer so we'd recommend doing the park and ride from Carbis bay which gives lovely views from the train and takes away the stress of finding parking!

Under new ownership in Summer 2019 this pub has great food that is highly rated. Its a small menu using high quality local ingredients and is more like a gastro pub. Not suitable for picky eaters :-). A short walk to the beach from the pub is a lovely way to finish your afternoon
