There is a time machine downtown highlighting the college experience for so many of us.....It's a blast from the past stepping into the Original Roma Restaurant on the corner of 16th Street and 8th Avenue. Roma’s is celebrated for its pizza and has been awarded "Best Pizza in Greeley" voted by locals, 10 years in a row! Not to be missed, "The Nutty Idea" pizza with cashews and cream cheese and the famous 34 oz Bazooka drinks.

Hands down, my favorite place for margaritas. They're strong and have a limit of 3. Huge outdoor patio, perfect for people watching and sipping frozen libations. Menu is Tex-Mex and I recommend the steak burrito or the Green Chili Soup with Jack Cheese and Rice added.

Looking for Breakfast or Lunch options? You've got to check out Doug's Diner and the amazing homemade options on the menu. Everything is delicious but I strongly recommend the breakfast menu, specifically the Hillbilly (Three Eggs, Browns, Griddle Biscuit topped with Country Gravy, Choice of 3 Strips of Thick Bacon, Slab Ham, Two House Sausage Patties or Two Turkey Green Chile Sausage Patties) and side order of Blueberry Hotcakes.

Neighborhoods

There is no doubt that one of the loveliest places to visit in Greeley is our very own Glenmere Park, located on Glenmere Boulevard between 14th and 17th avenues. Its story begins in July 1908 when the Glenmere Park Association intended to build a steam-generating electrical plant to produce power for the area. Their plan failed, but association members, who were avid gardeners and botanists, decided to turn the area into a park that has become one of the most unique public areas in Greeley. Glenmere’s design began to take shape in 1909, reflecting recommendations by C.B. Blake, a well known U.S. landscape architect, to “avoid straight lines in planting” and “leave the best views open.” This was quite a different design concept from previous city parks that were often based on street grid systems. It was decided that the new Glenmere Park be laid out in a curvilinear plan with streets following the contours of the land.

The Market is an excellent venue for both vendors and customers. Vendors offer a wide variety of locally grown and produced food products including in-season fresh produce, meats, honey, bread and other baked goods, roasted chiles and much more. Also, there are great gifts and sundries from local artisans and crafters. Every Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon there is live entertainment by local musicians. Plenty of breakfast food is onsite.
