Gravelly Point is more of a locals thing but its worth a mention. Its a park right along the Potomac River just north of Reagan National Airport. Its a fun place to have a watch the planes take off and land. Folks usually bring a blanket (and maybe a picnic) and watch as the planes fly a few hundred feet directly overhead.

The reason our neighborhood is called Pentagon City is because it was original built as housing for employees working in the Pentagon in the 1940's. The Pentagon is walking distance from here - maybe a mile once you get across the parking lot.

If you want to get some exercise, the Mount Vernon Trail is a great place to bike or run. It is a 17 mile stretch between DC and Mt Vernon in Alexandria, VA. It runs along the Potomac which means you will have great views of the National Mall and the monuments.

One of the best things about our neighborhood is our proximity to Washington DC. You can hop over to DC by metro, car or bike. We are three metro stops away on the yellow line and four metro stops on the blue line.

Food scene
Pentagon Row is just a few blocks from our house. It's a good place to grab a cup of coffee or casual dinner (Thai, Vietnamese, Peruvian, Lebanese, All-American). In the summer, they do a good job with bringing bands in the evening for entertainment and keep fountains running that kids just love. In the winter, there is a ice-skating rink.

In the summer, they do a good job with bringing bands in the evening for entertainment and keep fountains running that kids just love. In the winter, there is a ice-skating rink.
About six blocks from our house, there are several streets of restaurants. The ones on 23rd Street are more locally owned but there are some good options on Crystal City Drive as well.
