Home of the victorian social thinker John Ruskin and a cafe with the best view of Coniston Water and the Old Man. In our view best place for a lake view, light lunch, tea and cakes on Coniston Water. You could hire a boat/canoe from Coniston Centre or hop on the Coniston Launch, which can drop you off at the Brantwood Pontoon, short stroll from pontoon to house & cafe.

Rent a bike or bring your own. There are loads of Bike & Walking Trails in Grizedale Forest, as well as Go Ape. There is a cafe and large play area for the younger children.
