A hidden, quiet gem right next to the Sint-Anna church very close to the house. It's a very nice place for breakfast, lunch or a coffee. When the weather is warm, they have tables set outside next to the church.

Recommended bars
For a small city, Bruges has lots and lots of bars. These are a couple that I would recommend.
If you want to soak in the true “Old Bruges” atmosphere, cafe Vlissinghe is the place to be. It is the oldest pub in Bruges (it was opened in 1515).
They have a great selection of local beers and some bar food. The atmosphere is lively and friendly.

These restaurants are well-known with the locals where you can have good food and drinks for a reasonable price.
This is a favorite hang-out for friends and family. This ia a large well-designed industrial-style restaurant and pub with a nice outdoor patio. The food and drinks are really good with a reasonable price. A long-time establishment in Bruges.

Opened in March 2019, this is a small restaurant serving authentic Thai food run by a young Thai-Belgian couple. Our go-to place in the neighbourhood when we crave for Asian food.

It's raining chocolate shops in Bruges! Although the quality of chocolate is superb here, there is one I would highly recommend.
Dominique Persoone is a master chocolatier and famous for his creative and heavenly pralines. Only two stores in Belgium, the original one in Bruges and there is one in Antwerp. Definitely try the 'specials' with the weirdest sounding flavors like chocolate with wasabi, chili, onion...etc.
