Our Favorites
There are tons of great spots to eat or grab drinks within walking distance of the apartment, but these are our favorites.
This is our favorite spot to sit on a patio during the day and have a mimosa and a long lunch. Great food, great staff and always good people-watching.
Check the daily special which always changes and order a "Manmosa". It's not on the menu and you're not supposed to know about it. :)

Best quiet spot to get away from chaos when Main St gets too busy. Great cocktails, incredible gourmet burgers and cozy atmosphere. Happy Hour is 3-7pm every day with deals on apps and drinks. We highly recommend a 'Red Head in Bed" - $5 and the tuna on fried eggplant appetizer $5.

412 Walnut AvenueBest quiet spot to get away from chaos when Main St gets too busy. Great cocktails, incredible gourmet burgers and cozy atmosphere. Happy Hour is 3-7pm every day with deals on apps and drinks. We highly recommend a 'Red Head in Bed" - $5 and the tuna on fried eggplant appetizer $5.
If you're only eating one meal in HB then it should probably be Sushi on Fire. SOF does everything right and there's nothing on the menu you shouldn't try - it's always a good experience.
On that note, don't take it personal if Mama yells at you, she runs a tight ship and she has to be firm to keep the tables moving...take it as a compliment, she yells at all the locals too and you want the full HB experience, don't you?

213 Main StSugar Shack is where you'll find the locals having breakfast - it's been on Main St since 1967 and has barely changed in all that time. Lunch food is good there, but it's really a breakfast spot. The food is the best version of classic greasy-spoon you could ask for (with healthy items too). Great omelettes and burritos and the hash browns are always perfect.
Sitting on the patio is first come, first served, just write your name on the clipboard by the front door. If it's looking crowded out front there's a second patio in the back with it's own waiting list.
TK Burger is a secret local spot. Well, it's on PCH, so it's not *that* secret but you'd probably walk past it if someone didn't tell you how good the food was.
Great burgers and price for 'fast food' and the fries are always perfect.

We can't say enough good things about Bhodi Tree, we're very lucky to live across the street from it. Great vegan Vietnamese inspired food.

501 Main StWe can't say enough good things about Bhodi Tree, we're very lucky to live across the street from it. Great vegan Vietnamese inspired food.

Jan's has lots of amazing food - smoothies, sandwiches, acai bowls and salads, but whatever you get, grab chips and spicy guac too, you won't regret it.
