This is a world heritage site, a must see for visitors to Puglia. Very busy and a real tourist area, better restaurants etc, in the historic centre (centro storico) of nearby Martina Franca, Cisternino or Locorotundo in our opinion.

This is a world heritage site, a must see for visitors to Puglia. Very busy and a real tourist area, better restaurants etc, in the historic centre (centro storico) of nearby Martina Franca, Cisternino or Locorotundo in our opinion.
One of the best beaches in Italy. Go from San Vito to Serranova, where there is a centre showing information on the Nature Reserve.
Carry on towards the sea, find the carpark, pay 6 euros to ride the bus to the beach. You will not be disappointed. Some hired umbrellas are available, book online but the rest of the beach is available to the public.Recommended. Other beaches nearby are Specchiolla, Santa Sabina, Gorgognolo etc. If you dont like crowds, go a km or 2 along tthe coast, there are many uncrowded mini beaches available. BTW for Guinness lovers the Irish Palmares Club Bar in Santa Sabina is worth a visit.

City/town information
The White City. Park in the carpark, go up the hill to the cathedral, past the many shops restaurants. Carry on past the cathedral and enjoy the stunning view over the Olive groves to the Adriatic Sea. Our favourite restaurant, Risto Caffe Cavour in Via Cavour near the main Piazza. A 12th Century olive mill is now an underground restaurant with a superb menu, a real find.
