Boathaven Beach is a man-made beach located a short walk from Airlie Main street. It is the only beach in Airlie that has a swimming enclosure (recommended for the stinger seasons November to May)

The Bicentennial Walkway is a gorgeous coastal walk with waterfront views. Takes around 45 mins - 1 hour with plenty of dining options along the way. The walk stretches from Airlie Beach's lagoon through to the sands of Cannonvale Beach and is a roughly 4 kilometre long.

Parks & Nature

Short on time? The Airlie Creek track is a perfect escape into nature, right out of the heart of Airlie Beach, with access from Waterson Way. The return track is 1.7km long and will take roughly an hour to complete, It is home to some magnificent subtropical plants, endangered rock wallabies as well as an incredible fig tree about halfway along the path (below). The reward at the end is a stunning sloping natural rock pool and trickling waterfalls that come to life in the wet season.

Things To Do in Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is located in the Whitsundays, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. It is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the launch point for all boat trips out to the islands and marine park. Within the town itself, everything can be found for both locals and visitors to enjoy in the region.
