Astoria has actually surprised us. It was expected to be quite good, since it is owned by the folks who provide fine cheeses all over the region. However, it has surpassed excellent to be truly exceptional. We feel it is one of the top three restaurants in the city at the moment, and it is about three long blocks from the house.

Great little park with a waterfall, a miles of nice walking trails and even some hidden ponds. It's next door to the zoo, so if you are walking your dogs, they get all of the crazy smells.

This refers to the Marina, but The Emerald Necklace is the combination of parks that surround the city of Cleveland/Cuyahoga County. It is unique in that they are all connected by trails (hence the 'necklace') and there are so much to them it would be difficult to list them all. You can look it up on the marina website to find the rest of the locations.

However, this bank has a dome that was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany. $14 million went into restoring this incredible building and it is now one of the top attractions in the city. And you can have a nice lunch there with their prepared foods, or literally go food shopping with a fantastic selection.

However, this bank has a dome that was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany. $14 million went into restoring this incredible building and it is now one of the top attractions in the city. And you can have a nice lunch there with their prepared foods, or literally go food shopping with a fantastic selection.
This store was voted one of the 100 best retail stores in the US. Their seasonal window displays are always eye catching and the products inside are truly unique. Kula, the owner will great you and offer you a nice chilled glass of wine if you give her a wink and tell her about the Ithaca Court Occasional House.

One of our favorite shops, even before we found out they were our neighbors and one of the gardeners in the community garden outside the house. Jennie, the owner curates a beautiful set of high quality items, reasonably priced. Why waste time on boring gifts?

This is a huge collection of stores that sell all hand made items. It is an old warehouse, four stories tall, now filled with more than 40 art galleries and other incredible shops. On the third Saturday of every month, they have a huge pop up grouping of more than 150 hand made vendors. Each shop is unique, so nailing down the open hours is difficult, but it is worth driving over just to look through the art. Blank Canvas Theatre is also here, and they often have wedding receptions here on weekends.
