The Tate St. Ives, previously a gas station, is iconic not only due to its architectural design by duo Eldred Evans and David Shalev, but its attention to the art historical significance of Cornwall. As well as offering spectacular views of Porthmoer Beach through its atrium, it is a perfect destination for rainy days - with family friendly activities and a relaxing cafe.

Sightseeing

In 1931 Rowena Cade began building this Grecian style amphitheatre on the granite cliffs above Porthcurno beach. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it is a truly magical setting to watch a play while the sun goes down and the moon rises on long summer evenings. Make sure to wrap up and take a picnic and a blanket if catching an evening show (booking in advance is essential). The theatre can also be visited during the day for sightseeing.

Parks & Nature

Travel 20 minutes out of St. Ives to Gwithian Beach and have a up close view of Godrevy Lighthouse (National Trust car park). As well as being a popular destination for surfers - the beach and surrounding area is great for walks and nature, there is a small cove that you can view from the cliff where hundreds of seals reside.
