Excellent food and drink options. This place is on Santa Clara and makes for a good dinner spot on your walk or scooter ride to SAP Center.

I love this place! The always changing menu features seasonal flatbreads, salads, pasta dishes, and charcuterie. The wine list is great too. If the weather's nice, enjoy your cheese and wine on their cute outdoor patio.

A cozy hole in the wall British style pub. If you are looking for a bar to watch a game at, this isn't it. There are no TVs here. Make friends at the bar or play a board game. The staff is always lovely to chat with, too.

Arts & Culture
There are only three Japantowns left in the United States, and this is one of them. Come here for dinner, drinks, or shopping. Besides the restaurants and bars, places close up early (and a lot of places are closed on Mondays). It has a small town feel even though it's right next to downtown San Jose.

Essentials
While this isn't the best grocery store, it's very close to the bungalow and probably has what you need. They also have a taqueria inside if you want to grab some Mexican food. I'm a sucker for their flan.

You'll probably need to take a short drive to get here, but Whole Foods is the best grocery store just outside of downtown San Jose. Also a great place to get hot, prepared food if you don't feel like having dinner. There's also a coffee shop AND a brewery on site!

Neighborhoods
Our neighborhood is between Japantown and downtown San Jose. It is mostly residential, with a few businesses scattered here and there. There are train tracks running through the neighborhood which you might hear throughout the day (I have earplugs if you need em). My kids and I walk around the neighborhood regularly.
