Food Scene

Playa Provisions has great food, mostly american fare and seafood. Great Drinks at their bar and there's a speakeasy in the back of the restaurant. Two outdoor patios with fireplace and fire pits and blankets included for when the fog rolls in. Its great for breakfast too. Grab and go to the beach or hang out with the locals in their airy indoor dining room.

Caffe Pinguini is a beautiful little Italian restaurant tucked away on a side street just a block from the beach. Dine al fresco under twinkle lights for a romantic evening then take a walk on the beach.

We alway tell the owners they should rename the place "The Good Everything"! Its just down the road on Manchester about a 10 minute walk. The chef is passionate about his menu and everything is good. I love the shrimp and spaghetti!

There's a beautiful hiking trail just along the north side of Loyola Marymount University. It only about a 15 minute drive away. Park on Bluff Creek Drive off of Lincoln and walk back up the hill south on Lincoln. Just before the driveway entrance to the campus you'll see a black iron gate. Its not really keeping anybody out when its closed just walk around the side of it and you'll be on the trail. You can walk on the high trail and then come back on the low trail or exit at the end of the high trail and walk back towards Lincoln along Bluff Creek Drive passing the new Google Campus, a dog park, a soccer field and some other interesting points along the way. About 4 miles/ takes an hour.
