Sightseeing really nearby (walking distance)
If you like to walk these are fantastic places to do just that.
You can walk up Mount Vernon or Meigs (the streets our apartment is located between) into the park. It has sections that were carved by glaciers, as well as a huge curated section of pines, lilacs, maples, magnolias, peonies.... This park is beautiful for a walk or picnic - where the Lilac Festival happens in the spring.

Well many people have been buried here, including Frederick Douglas and Susan B. Anthony... There are tours, or you can just walk around. It is a beautiful place.
