Another Jazz place, more pricey, date place dinner, you'll have nice time. If something more quiet and intimate is what your up for, this is a good place.

2194 Frederick Douglass Blvd nr 118th st. - It is a very low key bar that has a nice rotation of draft beers and small bites. Mess Hall is a great place to meet up with a couple of friends for a chill night. I visited on an early Sunday evening, and Mess Hall was somewhat empty. Plus, the bar has happy hour every day until 8 pm, which is very inviting

243 West 116th St - Senegalese - recommend this place for authentic African cuisine. I had the Dibi lamb w/ plantains and it was so good and the portions were huge. Also the official dish of Senegal, the Thiéboudienne is a deeply flavorful, well balanced dish of fish, stewed vegetables, and delicious red rice.

113 W 116th St - Food lore has it that chicken and waffles was invented in Harlem, and if the version at this longtime standby is any indication, the neighborhood continues to do the dish proud. Here, the fried chicken is impeccably crispy, the waffles are tender, and portions are always hearty, drawing in crowds from both near and far.

Trains are the best way to get around town.
1 block east to Lenox Ave at 116th street you will find the 2 and 3 subway lines This will take you downtown running along Broadway most of the way. This train goes right into Penn Station but not into the Port Authority One block west you will find the B and C line at 116th and Frederic Douglas Blvd. The C will take you to the Port Authority. Its also a good line to take to Chelsea The M-2 Bus stops on 114th and Goes to the park over to 5th avenue and then all the way down to the east village. I find it the best way to get to the east side, but buses are slower than trains

Central Park - The Harlem Meer
Central Park: When you exit the building to your right 5 blocks is Central Park, As you enter The Park to your left lies a small lake. Central Park designers Olmsted and Vaux named this man-made water body "the Meer" — Dutch for "lake." It memorialized the former separate village of Harlem that was settled in the 17th Century by European settlers and included the upper regions of Central Park. Today, families flock to this area for catch-and-release fishing, skating and swimming at Lasker Rink and Pool. The Harlem Meer is also a thriving wildlife habitat and home to fish, turtles, and waterf

The North woods
Perhaps the most secluded and peaceful area of Central Park, the North Woods (located at Central Park's northwest corner) offers a taste of the Adirondack Mountains. The North Woods is one of the Park's three woodlands (along with the Ramble and Hallett Nature Sanctuary), offering people and wildlife an oasis of nature in the middle of New York City. The heart of the North Woods is the Ravine. Fallen trees, or snags, are left where they land (unless hazardous or obscuring paths), providing nutrients to surrounding plants, homes to wildlife and a natural look to the landscape.
