Sun City Community Sun City is located 26 miles northwest of Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. This 55+ active adult community was not only the first of its kind in Arizona but also the first in the country. This 14.5 square mile community with 26,000 homes and 40,000 residents has been the gold standard for every retirement community to follow. Located in a prime location with easy access to major freeways, guests are just minutes away from shopping at the Arrowhead Mall, eating at a wide variety of restaurants, visiting the Challenger Space Center, West Valley Art Museum, Wildlife World Zoo, and Lake Pleasant. Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the proximity to sporting venues such as professional hockey, football and basketball. Several Major League Baseball teams conduct spring training camps in the area and the Peoria Sports Complex is just 10 minutes away. Golfing There are eight golf courses (seven 18 hole and one nine hole) that are available to the public. All courses offer rental equipment and Airbnb guests are welcome to pay (very reasonable) public fees and reserve golf tee times. Two of the centers have bowling alleys. Airbnb guests have the option of purchasing day passes for a nominal fee which entitles guests to use any one of the seven facilities.
