By day it's casual, relaxed with a mix of shopping, restaurants and business. At night, look out! Bars open up and the people watching begins! Take the trolley, or park in the Centro Parking Garage. Don't miss this historic district!

The Independent is my go to for great beer, a good wine selection and an eclectic mix of locals (and their dogs). It is a staple! Light food menu available, and a mix of jazz, blues and indy music is out on the patio on weekends. If you want to chill with the locals for an evening brew under the stars...this is where I go.

This is a classy establishment for a meal, a great cocktail, or a bit of light jazz. Within walking distance of most of downtowns restaurants and cocktail scenes. Not to mention, iconic Tampa Theater!

Never seen the view from the Bay? Wanna get a unique and interesting look at our downtown area? Catch a water taxi. 13 stops go from the History museum with points up to Rick's on the River (great oysters). A tip, catch it in the evening and take a ride around as the sun sets and the city lights come on!

Curtis Hixon is tucked along the river and seems to be always teaming with events. Thursdays usually host free concerts on the lawns, weekends are filled with festivals, and even a outdoor yoga class is hosted on Sunday evenings. This is a great spot to catch a Coast bike and go for a ride along the river, or just take a walk. Tip: My favorite brunch place is INSIDE the art museum...over looking the park and river. Check it out!

Thursdays usually host free concerts on the lawns, weekends are filled with festivals, and even a outdoor yoga class is hosted on Sunday evenings. This is a great spot to catch a Coast bike and go for a ride along the river, or just take a walk. Tip: My favorite brunch place is INSIDE the art museum...over looking the park and river. Ok, it's not just a movie theater...as a matter of fact, usually there is only one movie for weeks.. but it's an adventure! This amazing 1925 John Eberson designed theater is my go to favorite spot in Tampa! It was recently renovated with new seating. It's absolutely stunning with outdoor Spanish motif and it's own working pipe organ! Go for a concert, movie, or one of the several tours offered throughout the month.

Ok, I love the Straz Performing Arts Center, I go there for big and small shows (Jaeb and Jobsite theaters are there too), but for great local productions, your within walking distance of Stageworks! It's a hidden gem in Channelside, very reasonable prices with usually interesting and sometimes edgy material. Second floor about a block away!

Not as large as some city zoos, this is perfect to spend a morning or afternoon before everyone wears out!
