Beautiful beach . You can see the SF Golden Gate Bridge and hike along towards the Bridge, all walking distance from the house. Good place for families, couples or if you're just wanting time alone.

Check out Sutro Baths too, amazing to look at, so much history...if those stones could talk/wink, eh?

My favorite in the Park are San Francisco Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, Rose Garden, Huntington Falls in Strawberry Hill, the Shakespeare Garden, the Dutch windmill, the De Young Museum, Music Concourse vicinity, Buffalo paddock, The Academy of Science, the trees, the air, the paths to ride your bike. The park is so large! Rent a bike (the price was comparable at $8/hr) and ride through the park to the Ocean beach. I think you can rent segways too--saw a whole family ride with them.

On to the island and climbed to the top of the hill overlooking Huntington Falls (kind of like Tom Sawyer Island at Disneyland but everything is real!). Rent a paddle boat here on a Stow Lake. Lots of wildlife...turtles, geese, ducks, etc love just taking an afternoon stroll here.

Start your exploration with a trip up the elevator to Hamon Observation Tower, 360 degrees of glass walls providing views of Cal Academy of Sciences, Golden Gate park, the top of Golden Gate bridge, and in the distance you can even see downtown SF. This is an epic view. In general, much of this museum is dedicated to ancient artifacts from the Americas, Africa, and Pacific/Oceanic Islands. My favourite artist there is Modigliani. Also, I loved the variety of cultures this museum provides exhibits for.
