The Live Room presents the very best live folk, roots and acoustic music. It features a challenging and stimulating mix of artists, some with world-wide reps, some cult heroes, others up-and-coming, but all outstanding in their field. It is said; The Live Room @ Caroline Social Club in Saltaire is the best live music club in Bradford, as an informal, intimate, and friendly venue such as Caroline’s makes the ideal environment in which to enjoy the artists we present.

Very good to see a National Museum located outside London. Lots of interesting objects and art on display, and plenty of interactive displays. Also he National Media Museum and Picturehouse Cinemas bring you the best in film from around the world in the Museum’s beloved screens: Pictureville, described by Lord Puttnam as “the best cinema in the world”, the cosy Cubby Broccoli cinema – named after the famous James Bond producer - and Europe’s very first IMAX screen!

Pleasant place for a walk with lovely trees, grassy areas, flora and fauna. Easy parking and good pathways, but lots of uphill gradient to reach the top. Good views. Adjoining Heaton Woods is around 40 acres of ancient and new woodland, open to the public and well looked after. The bluebells in the Spring are stunning and adorn the banks of the stream. Access is not disabled friendly and the paths are natural and can be muddy but it is well worth a visit especially in the Spring. The wood runs into Northcliffe wood so a good circular walk is possible using the lower and upper paths.

The highest point of Pennythorn Hill (as it is properly called) is 280 metres above sea level with the nearest on-road parking at about 200 so in order to get to the very top you have to be prepared to walk! However, those no able or willing to can still soak up the magnificent Yorkshire moorland with its sweeping panoramas and wonderful views. On a clear day it is possible to see for over 50 miles down the M62 corridor and you can qiuite clearly see Ferrybridge and Selby power stations in the distance as well as wonderful views down the Aire Vally, across Ilkley (both Rombalds and Bingley) Moors and over to Halifax and Ogden. Those capable of walking up to the "trig" point will be rewarde

Spring you see carpets of bluebells, daffodils and the newly leafed trees, Summer it gets busier but the walks are still good, Autumn has the foliage and shapes and lots of cheeky squirrels, winter can be beautiful with the Frost's and silenced snows. The wooden carvings are more evident in the emptier woodlands, where there are many secluded walks.

Sightseeing

A marvellous piece of industrial history, and at the same time a beautiful sight to behold. One of the glories of West Yorkshire. If you are in the area this is well worth stopping for and having a look. Incredible feat of engineering especially bearing in mind that it was constructed back in 1774. Lovely walk along the canal tow path as well. Café at the top serves a good range of drinks and snacks.

The tunnels, as they are locally known have laid empty for many years. Former uses are builders yard, brewery, the black fat cat club and old prison cells. But they lay unused for many years until a local man from Yeadon near Leeds decided to develop them. Now we have craft and independent shops selling local produce, tapas and bar meals. Several bars including the Gin bar, Laurel and Hardy multimedia bar, cocktail bar and a few other quirky little bars. Phase two will be opened in 2017. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186408-d11917079-r453170651-Sunbridgewells-Bradford_West_Yorkshire_England.html#

The cafe here is delightful with incredible teas. The staff are consistently lovely and friendly. The playlist is always perfection. They have an amazing selection of books and games and it's a great place to go to buy a great quality present for anyone. Also the cafe is lovely to work from whenever possible. And they have chairs dotted about so you can just sit and absorb yourself in books whilst you're there. Trust me. It's lovely.
