Amazing fried whiting. VERY slow. But if you're looking for fried fish, this is MUCH tastier than that fish place next door that smells so good.

Don't go here. Guidebooks recommend it reflexively, but the portions are tiny, and the food is relatively bland and expensive.

BRUNCH! Rarely a wait. Classic diner with really delicious, reasonably priced, large portions. You can walk it off in Central Park afterward, too.

If the hustle of NYC is getting you down, DON'T miss the Cloisters at Fort Tryon. Beautiful views, very cool medieval art, and peace. Also this lovely restaurant, which sells glorious hot chocolate.

You are so lucky you can eat at Jesus Taco. They're cheap, quick, and super delicious. They deliver for free over $8, and everything, right down to the tortillas, is made from scratch.

A fun bar that's only open in the summer, great for visitors. They always have a neat art installation going. The Met is entrance by donation, so you can get up there for 25 cents if you want.

The first sign of summer in uptown are the little silver Coco Delicioso carts, which you'll always find on the street here. $1 for a dixie cup with coconut and cherry ice. Only in uptown NYC! So good!

There are actually a bunch of these and the closest is up at 147th on Broadway. This is a great place to get any incidentals at "normal" non-NYC-marked-up prices. Like Chinatown for us up-towners.
