The mines Hörnebo Skiffergruva (32km away) is an exciting FREE journey.
Beautiful walk until Hultaklint viewpoint. The Singoalla's cave is a tiny cave is named after Viktor Rydberg's novel about the love between the knight Erland Månesköld and the Roma Singoalla. In the summer of 1846, Viktor Rydberg worked as a private teacher at the nearby manor in Berg. The footpath here from Hultaklint is steep and requires alert legs and a good sense of balance. The cave itself does not impress the visitor the most.

The Ohsabanan line is a 14.5 km long narrow-gauge railway east of Värnamo. The line and the traffic are run by Ohs Bruks Järnvägs Museiförening and is a non-profit association that was formed on 31 May 1970. The association's purpose is to preserve and operate the line.
Regardless of age or if you like trains, a trip on the Ohsabanan is a fantastic experience for the whole family.
Eksjö is about 1 hour north from our place and has very nice old wooden buildings and beautiful courtyards.
Skurugatas gästbok is a very nice hike near Ecksjö.

Åsnen National Park is about 1 hour away and covers an area of 1868 hectares and is located in the municipality of Alvesta and Tingsryd, bordering on the municipality of Växjö. 75 per cent of its area is made up of water.
You get an incredible sense of wilderness here, surrounded by ancient beech forest, an inland lake with everything from a hundred or so larger islands to tiny rocky islets, and rich plant and animal life can be seen everywhere you turn.
The forest in Bjurkärr (at the Sunnabron entrance) is very old and unspoilt, with a virgin forest feel. It is famous for its incredible species diversity, which includes lichens, fungi and insects that live on wood.
The mythical Trollberget – Troll Mountain – on the west side of Åsnen has some exciting forest hiking to offer, particularly for the youngest family members.

Adventure
Lammhultsbadet has a 25-meter pool, two jumping towers and a kiosk. The temperate pool is open ONLY in the summer, and usually opens around the beginning of June. There is a shower and changing room, large lawns, free parking and a kiosk.
Entrance fee at Lammhultsbadet : SEK 30. Applies to everyone regardless of whether you bathe or not.
Children under 7 years and in the company of a parent have free entrance.
Lammhultsbadet is cashless, pay by bank card or Swish.

Moheda is a great area full of flea markets (Loppis) that are taking place during the weekend. One of them is the Moheda Antik ich Loppmarknad. This is a large "flea market" that wants to be more of a antique's shop.
You will see one large and some smaller barns, filled with small things like glass and books as well as lots of furniture. They also have a part of the big barn with more junk like old electronics from the 80's and 90's.

700m away from the apartment, opposite the entrance to Björnö (the settlement where you are located), there is a nice swimming area that we always use. The lake in front of the house is also very nice but also very shallow in parts. There are always stones that reach up to the water surface. The locals do not bathe here. Please be very careful if you want to go swimming here.
