Sightseeing
Just takes a few minutes to drive to Lake Roberts from Salt Creek Ranch and less than a minute from The Inn at Lake Roberts. Grab a fishing license at Walmart or online and bring your pole to fish for bass, trout, and catfish at this well-stocked beautiful lake.
There is a lovely walking trail that scales the perimeter of the lake as well.

Fantastic trail to hike or ride your horses along Sapillo Creek. Leave early and ride or hike to the Confluence and back. Beautiful ride/hike!
To get the trailhead, go left out the driveway toward Hwy 15. Turn left on Hwy 15. After the bridge, you'll see a couple of horses and a garden on your left. Go through the left bend and you'll see a small parking area / pullout on the right. Park there and follow the trail toward the west. There are no signs marking this parking area. One of those best kept secrets... you likely won't see another soul the entire ride/hike. There are several water crossings, so a great place to hike with your dogs or ride horses!

Food scene
Please remember that our locations at Lake Roberts and Salt Creek Ranch are quite removed from restaurants and shopping, so plan to bring food for meals. However, if you're up for a little drive, these are some of our favorite restaurants. The closest is 15-20 minutes away (The Log Cabin Restaurant). There is also a small store with basic amenities and food about 20 minutes from Lake Roberts called 4 Seaysons Store & RV Park located toward Mimbres.

Winery Tour
The wineries listed take you down the lower Mimbres Valley along Highway 61 to Deming, NM. Another site to see on this route is the City of Rocks in Faywood.
