Food scene

Great food and cool views at this unique breakfast and brunch spot almost on the tarmac at the Camarillo Airport. Watch local pilots and some military pilots taking off and landing while you relax on their gorgeous patio. Try the pineapple mimosas or the shakes.

Our favorite for a local cup of coffee. Try their pastries or breakfast sandwiches that will make you feel like you are in France! While in Old Town Camarillo, take a stroll down the boulevard to check out the Farmers Market (Saturdays) and other restaurants, spas, and boutiques that have popped up in the past few years!

Locals started this growing franchise after learning to make gelato in Italy. Unique flavors and friendly staff make Tifa the best place for a sweet treat in all of Ventura county. Try the fig marscapone!

Maybe it’s the nostalgia of the walk-up window or actually just the best donuts in town that draws sellout crowds most weekend mornings. You be the judge— just try to get there before 10am… they will sellout!

Upscale beach town with beaches, Moxi children’s museum, a small aquarium (on the pier), the urban wine trail and several craft breweries. Try to snag a table at the Lark for the best food, probably ever. Make a day of it and consider taking the Pacific Surfliner Amtrak train from Camarillo- drops you off right in the heart of downtown SB. Or make the drive about 45-90 minutes (time depends on traffic) for gorgeous coastal views you won’t forget!

Sightseeing

Day trip to the Pacific Coastal dunes is worth the drive (2.5 hours north). The ranch/RV resort allows parking for non-campers, and has unbelievable access to the expansive dunes and breathtaking views. The dunes are a must see when near the Central Coast!

Take Santa Rosa Rd to Highway 1 and drive south 15-20 minutes for mostly uninstructed, traffic-free views of the Pacific. Catch a sunset at Point Mugu lookout. Consider following PCH south all the way into Malibu to soak in the ocean air.
