Pleasant 2 mile walk around the lake with great refreshments at Olive and Co cafe. There’s a play area for younger children and kayak or paddle board hire at the water sports centre. Take change for the car park.

Great walk and views from here. Start at Minions - the highest village in Cornwall. Refreshments at the coffee shop in the village. (Sadly there was a fire in the Cheesewring Pub at Christmas so that’s out of action. )

The idyllic villages of Cawsand and Kingsand lies in the south eastern corner of Cornwall, the area being locally known as Cornwall's forgotten corner. Both villages offer safe swimming beaches for children and adults. Quaint cottages huddled together along narrow streets with 4 public houses, all offering good food and beverages. Booking is advised. Mount Edgecombe, a country park, is accessible from Kingsand, crossing over the Minadue through the beautiful wooded park to Mount Edgecombe, where you can stop for a refreshments at the Stables restaurant or continue down to the Cremyl Ferry where you will find the Edgecombe Arms public house.

Looe is a must visit place when coming to Cornwall. A fishing port which can be traced back to pre-medival times. It has an abundance of shops and restaurants and a beautiful sandy beach with boat hire. For anyone wishing to do some fishing here is a good place to start either from the shore or by booking one of many of the chartered fishing boats. For the children you can buy crabbing sets ( bucket, line and bait) from local shops and sit on the quayside chilling and catching crabs. Make sure to put them back carefully though afterwards.

This wood is within east walking distance of Tremar and can form part of a circular walk including the Crows Nest pub! It’s particularly pretty in the spring when the bluebells are out.

Narrow steep lanes to get in and out. Not for the nervous driver but it’s a lovely, quiet, out of the way little beach. A couple of nice cafes and a more pricey restaurant up the hill at the hotel. A good place to walk to along the coast path from either Looe or Polperro.

This is only a 10 minute walk from the house, along the little footpath just before the bus stop to the right of the house. Worth a quick look and of historic interest.

Porady dla podróżnych

Co spakować

A torch would be very useful.

Tremar and the the local area, including Bodmin Moor, is a designated dark area, which means there are very few, if any street lights. Great for star gazing though.
