Hot springs

A natural hot springs with 2 pools and a sauna. Varying temperatures to match your mood. Pool house has towels and snacks available. Changing rooms are very nice and clean. Float on your back in the pool and soak up the healing waters.

Great skiing with a small town feel. One chairlift to the top with a midway exit. A variety of terrains to please everyone. Beautiful views of the Pioneer Mountains to the east, Grasshopper Valley to the south, and the Beaverhead Mountains to the west.

Grasshopper Valley

Polaris is an unincorporated community in Beaverhead county. There are about 100 full-time residents that enjoy the beautiful scenery and outdoors in the peaceful Grasshopper Valley. People are friendly and welcoming to visitors. From May-November there is country market store open for groceries and supplies. Otherwise, the closest stores are in Dillon. There is no cell service in Polaris. Fuel (gas and diesel) are available at the Grasshopper Inn B&B when the owners are on-site. The closet fuel is Wise River (40 miles) or Dillon (38 miles). There are many things to do such as hike, bike, camp, dig for crystals, fish, ride ATV's, ride horses, ski, snowshoe, hunt, soak in the hot springs, explore ghost towns, or just sit in a chair or hammock and relax. You may see a bald eagle, red-tailed hawk, moose, deer, elk, fox, skunk or bear.

Bring shovels, picks, a rockhounding screen, mosquito repellent, water, and food/snacks. There is a $5 charge to get in and you are limited to a five-day-per-person/year.

Hiking
