The Elan Valley Reservoirs are a chain of man-made lakes created from damming the Elan and Claerwen rivers within the Elan Valley in Mid Wales. The reservoirs, which were built by the Birmingham Corporation Water Department, provide clean drinking water for Birmingham in the West Midlands of England.
There are 6 dams to discover and its an area you can explore on foot, bicycle or car.

Big Pit National Coal Museum is open for five days per week – every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Museum will also be open on Bank Holiday Mondays To reduce any risks from COVID-19, they have had to change what they do, and currently the UNDERGROUND TOUR WILL REMAIN CLOSED.
The Museum remains free to enter. However, they have had to reduce the number of people they can welcome on site at any one time. To manage this, all visitors entering the site will need to have booked a free ticket in advance. Sadly, if you don't book and present a valid ticket, you’ll be turned away.
I've yet to visit but I'm reliably informed by others that this is quite a spectacle! Check out the website for feeding times.
