Don't miss a visit to The Piece Hall. This place is special. Stunning architecture. You may feel like you have wandered into a Venetian Piazza! Regular special events at weekends and lots of interesting little shops. Great bars, eating places - and Blondins' Ice-Cream! Outdoor tables provided to sit at and eat your ice-cream or drink your coffee, or just sit on the steps. It's a spectacular place and we recommend you put it on your to-visit list. Busy on sunny weekends but always a lovely atmosphere. https://www.thepiecehall.co.uk/

A pretty market town on a river, within a short drive. Lots of cafes and restaurants. Walk from here on a steep path to Heptonstall and visit the grave of Sylvia Plath. Or stroll around the park and canal area - a nice little coffee place in the centre of the park. Tip for parking: Park at the railway station just before you enter Hebden Bridge on your left. There are more spaces and less congestion and the parking is cheaper here. As you walk away from the parking, there is an entrance on the left to the park and you can stroll via the park to the centre of town.

A walkers' paradise, with over 15 miles of tracks and trails, and a cafe to rest your weary legs when all walked out. National trust property. Stunning scenery. Situated above Hebden Bridge. I recommend you choose the car park at the far end of the Crags Clough Hole car park (HX7 7AZ). It is a quieter car park, although it is also steeper walking here (steps and rough tracks) but closer to the best viewpoint and the lovely Gibson Mill for delicious ice-cream. Fine for reasonably fit people but good walking shoes recommended. There are also more gentle paths that wind along the river - you can see a map on the website to choose your preferred route. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/hardcastle-crags

To find this little gem of an artisan bakery, turn left out of the entrance and walk 5 minutes or so, past the Silk Mill Pub, and you will discover this tiny bakery tucked away on the left, just after Calder Valley Flooring. Delicious bread and pastries made on the premises - and great coffee . They also have little outdoor decked seating area, perfect for a sunny morning coffee and pastry. I recommend the Cardamon buns! Open only Wednesday to Saturday mornings. This is one of those not to be missed treats.
