Forest
“The Sacred Monkey Forest is the best known natural sanctuary in Bali. It is located in the village of Padangtegal, off the Monkey Forest Road which is about 10 minutes drive away from the villa. It is home to three temples and around 600 long-tail Macaques monkeys. Inside the forest they sell bunches of bananas to feed the inhabitants. If you hold a banana above your head, the monkey will climb up your body and sit on your shoulder to eat it! The monkeys are everywhere! They are surprisingly friendly and can be very cheeky so its very important to keep your belongings secured and out of sight as they are notorious for quickly stealing sunglasses, bags, food from tourists if care is not taken. Location: Jalan Monkey Forest, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali 80571, Indonesia Open: Daily from 8.30am to 5.30pm Phone: +62 (0)361 971 304”

“The Ubud Art Market is a good place to find beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, statues, kites, handmade woven bags, baskets or hats and many other hand-crafted goods and souvenirs/ gifts. Locally known as Pasar Seni Ubud, the market is just opposite Puri Saren Agung (Ubud Royal Palace). There are plenty of the common items that you’ll find all around the island, including beach clothes and shirts printed with “Bali” on them, as well as ikat (woven) skirts, Balinese-style paintings, woodcarvings and woven baskets. Most of the goods found at the Ubud Art Market are made in the neighbouring villages of Pengosekan, Tegallalang, Payangan and Peliatan.Read more. Field
“Aside from the killer waves, people from all over the world have come to love, Bali is also popular for their breathtaking natural attractions. One that you definitely should visit is the Campuhan Ridge Walk. Situated in a busy and fairly modern Ubud, this scenic mountain valley hiking trail is surely a great retreat to take a breath of fresh air. Along the nine-kilometer hill track journey, you will be accompanied by the most remarkable hillside sceneries and the lush valley of Sungai Wos River. If you’re lucky and the weather’s extra good, you will even get to see Mount Agung standing tall and proud along the way. Truly a beautiful Bali experience!”

“ Another famous restaurants in Ubud is called Bebek Bengil which translates as the ‘Dirty Duck’. The restaurant backs on to pretty rice paddies and the story goes that when the restaurant was being built a group of ducks waddled through and gave the building its name. As you would expect, duck features heavily on the menu and you can get traditional dishes such as crispy duck rubbed with a Balinese blend of herbs and spices which was first pioneered here in the 90’s, or you can enjoy fusion dishes such as duck salad with melon.”
