“Gunung Lang Recreational Park, located off Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (formerly Kuala Kangsar Road), Covering an area of 30.35 hectares out of which 14.16 hectares consists of the lake, the park is divided into two sections. It is developed around a scenic backdrop of limestone hills of Gunung Lang and Gunung Bilike. The main are the man-made cascading waterfall atop a limestone hill, a 2km broadwalk over the swamp and lookout towers. There are also facilities like a children’s playground, campsite, mini zoo, a prayer room and washrooms. In order to reach there, one must pay RM3 (adult) / RM1.50 (Senior Citizen) for a boat ride from the jetty.”

“Have a close contact with nature at Sitiawan Taman Paya Bakau which has magnificent mangroves. It was built in May 1994 and has officially opened to the public in January 1995. There is a 6-foot-wide bridge designed for visitors who like to walk around the mangrove area an take some photographs. Be careful with the monkeys here, they are wild animals. Not pets. “Penang Bird Park is the first and largest bird park in Malaysia. Established in 1988, the RM1.2 million complex is home to over 300 species of birds (150 of which are of local origin) ranging from kingfishers and tiny exotic sunbirds to vulturine guineafowl and huge, gigantic eight ft-tall ostriches. Located in Seberang Jaya, within the beautifully- landscaped, five-acre Penang Bird Park are two walk-in aviaries and two geodesic-domed enclosures, resembling the birds’ natural habitat. Forests found here include lowland dipterocarp, hill dipterocarp and low montane types with a distinctive northern element as the area borders Thailand. The Royal Belum is part of the larger Belum-Temengor forest landscape, one of the largest blocks of forest in Peninsula Malaysia. This forest is excellent for trekking, bird watching and animal sightings.The presence of elephants, rhinoceroses, tapirs and tigers makes Belum very special. This forest possesses immense wealth of flora and fauna with much of the area still unexplored and undisturbed. Highly recommended for nature lovers.”

“It's a nice place to hangout with family, picnic & swimming. The water is cool & crystal clear. Hiking further up to the waterfall, you will be rewarded with the great view of waterfall. Visitors are allowed to barbeque beside huts. Huts are clean. Wooden huts go for RM4.00, brick huts go for RM8.00. Nice place for a day picnic. Clean waters, ample free space to set up for picnic and a swim. There is a shop available to buy food. A hike to the top waterfall (soon after passing through the 2 rocks with a red arrow marked on one) you will be rewarded by being there alone. Beautiful and Chilly.”

“It is the highest mountain in the beautiful destination of Cameron Highlands which can be reached through car. Situated on the Perak Pahang border of Malaysia, the greatest attraction of this mount is that the summit of the same can be reached by a car ride through concrete roads. “Segari Turtle Sanctuary (Pusat Pengurusan Penyu) Pasir Panjang, Segari, Perak. Opening hours: Mon-Sun – 10am to 12.30pm, 2pm to 5pm Fri – 10am to 12 noon, 2.30pm to 5pm Entrance is free. Segari Turtle Conservation Centre is not very big but it serves a very noble cause by conserving the sea turtles. This absolutely helps to prevent them from extinction. The center collects turtle eggs from the beach nearby and place them in the hatchery area of the center. After hatching, the turtles will be separated by size (or age) and put into respective pools to let them grow. Once they are big enough, they will be freed into the sea.”
