After arrival and introductions, we'll start the process by showing you how to properly slash your dough and get it into the oven. this will allow our first loaves to bake and cool in time for sampling, because who wants to attend a sourdough class and not get to eat any of it? :) Next, we'll begin the process of mixing ingredients, going over the recipe and process. during the periods when the dough will be resting ill conduct a demonstration for a fun live cultured beverage, you can make at home or simply enjoy it during the baking class. Since there is so much time involved in producing a loaf, I'll be moving along with the steps as quickly as we can and spending most of the time between processes answering questions and explaining the why behind the techniques. classes typically last between 3-4 hours so light refreshments will be served throughout the class. You will leave class with, starter, instruction printout, a loaf of bread to bake the next and a bread proofing basket. Other things to note Let me know if you have any food allergies.

Come and join us for an intimate and educational experience on the day and the life of an Alpaca caregiver! We provide an opportunity for people 5 and older to feed, occasionally pet, halter train and a guided walk with Alpaca and Llama! In addition we will share some unique and educational information regarding camelids! We may also stop to greet our unique and crazy flock of chickens! Book a private experience for special occasions, birthdays, engagements!! We have limited availability during the week, however can accommodate larger groups via request Other things to note Please wear appropriate shoes (sorry no Flip flops or sandals) or bring an extra pair! We do have a public restroom and do have facilities to wash up before and after your experience. Our event is for children 5 and up. Please contact the hosts for questions regarding children under the age of 5. Due to the stress caused to our animals we do not permit dogs on the ranch. Thank you for understanding. As we walk the streets of Downtown, you'll learn about the violent Whiskey Rebellion in Pittsburgh, hidden former (as well as existing!) speakeasies around the city, and how Prohibition affected the region. Besides that you will find out a lot about the revival of craft spirits and the history of a local and family-owned distillery. Cow cuddle and destress with rescue brown swiss cows
Cow Cuddling Therapy - Guests will meet and actively interact with docile, loving and affectionate rescue brown swiss cows, oxen and calves. Guests arrive to our Working Farm & Sanctuary, and are given an educational and fun tour by tractor or foot of the 350 acres, where they will be introduced to how humans, cows, the land and nature co-exist harmoniously. After the tour, guests are escorted to our newly constructed cow barn to lay in the comfortable straw with each of the cows as they rest and ruminate. This close contact and touch relieves stress and uplifts the spirit of the cow cuddler. This therapy is known as Koe Knuffelen and is extremely supportive of improved mental health. The experience concludes with a delicious plant-based / vegan meal prepared by the Sanctuary's Culinary Center from produce raised organically on the very same land and/or sourced locally from other farmers. The entire experience lasts 4 hours and costs $100 per person, $320 for 4 persons and for 5 persons and more, please call for rates.
Become a Candlemaking Master
Create a one of a kind dessert inspired candle. With over 150 design options, our candle-making class is unique because we create candles that look and smell like edible foods! Guests will be shown different varieties of wax toppings that we make in our facility and receive guidance in creating their design. Guests will be able to take home their candle creation and will have completed the class with unique candle making knowledge and experience. Public Tour - Sanctuary
Upon Arrival guests will be greeted by one of our co-founders or animal caregivers at our historic event barn. Guests will receive a brief introduction to the nonprofit and the property. You will be able to enter animal enclosures and meet some of the animal residents, while learning about animal agriculture and hearing some of the unique rescue stories at Tamerlaine. Many of our animals love human attention! Feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy lunch (vegan) while taking in beautiful views of the property. Learn about the lives of farmed animals and animal rehabilitation, while listening to unique and inspiring recovery and rescue stories that will warm your heart. There is parking on site when you arrive. Arrive 5- 10 minutes before the tour to fill our our waiver and use the restroom.

This experience captures a piece of the Philly culture and is lined up so that every stop is a hop and skip away from the next. With this tour we skip every line and pay no covers. It’s 4- 5 (dependent on group size) of our favorite bars with a secret bar or speakeasy along the tour; That even people that live in the city don’t know about. We will have a few drinks at each stop and makes some friends along the way. Look forward to having a great time with you. Downtown Lancaster International Food Tour All Diets Welcome
Lancaster, PA is 1 of 18 cities certified nationwide to welcome refugees. On this amazing walking tour you will eat some of the best food in downtown Lancaster. You will meet your host at the Lancaster City Welcome Center. After a brief introduction you will walk around the city tasting a variety of foods at seven different locations. Including from Denmark, Italy, Jerusalem, Japan, Spain, Laos, and more! The chefs are excited to share their culture and food with you. You will hear stories from immigrant and refugee chefs who have settled in Lancaster to open shops featuring recipes from their home country. Lancaster is a historic 18th century city. While en route, we will visit historical sites of culturally diverse business owners dating back 200+ years. You may also visit hidden gardens, and roof top restaurants. This is a great activity for groups, families, or friends visiting Lancaster. Walking distance is approximately 5-6 blocks total. Food stops vary by day and time. We will safely guide you on a fun tour of local breweries and distilleries, also a covered bridge. We go at your pace. We love to share all the fun and beauty in the Catskill Mountains, and look forward to hosting you and your group.
Tour an Organic Farm in the Catskills
We’ll meet by the bridge that runs over our creek, walk through the pastures, the gardens and barns. We’ll talk about the season, what crops we are currently harvesting, where animals are, why we move them around so much, and our growing techniques. You'll meet our beautiful Maremmas (Rey and Daisy) that serve as guard dogs for our livestock and see where our chickens roost and where our cows and sheep graze with plenty of opportunity for questions. At the end of the tour stop by to check out our farm store and let the kids run loose on the playground. Other things to note: The tour is not strenuous but we will be walking up some hills, and depending on the weather it may be a bit muddy. Please wear appropriate footwear and sun/rain protection. The farm can be a dangerous place for unattended children. Adult supervision is required to ensure children remain safe.
Soap & Candle Making Class
In about 1.5 hours I will be teaching you how to make 3 different FUN luxury products, that you get to take home with you. We will start with 100% domestic soy candle with a cotton wick with your choice of fragrance. We will then make a soap that you can roll into a scroll, you choose your herbs and essential oils. Finally we will be making a Face Spritzer that contain organic aloe vera. We will chat about the benefits of essential oils and which would be the best for you. Bottle water will be available. There are a minimum of two people and maximum 4 people per class, children 10 years and over are welcomed. If you have any questions or like to request a private class of minimum of 4 people (I will try my best to accommodate - my schedule is not very flexible) please contact me and I will get back to you promptly. The classes will be held in my 1900 farmhouse, PLEASE NOTE we have two potbelly pigs as pets that live and roam in our home. They are friendly and you will be able to pet them. Ny goat yoga
What is Goat Yoga? Well, it's just like a regular yoga, with stretching, postures and breathing, except with adorable and friendly goats wandering around, jumping on you as you "downward dog", trying to kiss your face and possibly nipping at your yoga pants. On certain Sunday's we have different themes like goat yoga & wine, pizza, and so on. Goat yoga is part of a growing trend of including friendly animals in human exercise routines. It's healthy, it's therapeutic and it's loads of fun. More Info: Classes will be led by certified Yoga Instructors. 45 minute class followed by 15 minutes of selfies and posed shots. Indoor restrooms are available. The yoga will be designed for BEGINNERS and experienced yogis. Feel free to rest if you need to. Feel free to take Goat Selfies and connect with the goats. Children 12+ are welcome and should be able to make it through an hour long yoga class. Only those people participating in the class and who have paid for a spot can come. Join us at the wood-fired outdoor brick oven for an evening of delicious farmstead fresh pizza. Saturday nights, May-October, we invite neighbors, friends, and guests to make pizzas with local ingredients, enjoy field fresh salads, and sit around the campfire. We bring the dough and all of the fixings, you bring your appetite! It is always the highlight of everyone’s stay at Stony Creek. Garden fresh salads are also included.
