Najlepsze parki – New Milford

Park
“Trails through the park will lead the walker through centuries of land-use history. Heading northeast from the parking lot the trail utilizes the 1895 Berlin Iron Bridge, one of five remaining in Connecticut, to cross the Housatonic River. Across the bridge the Lovers Leap Trail heads southeast 1,200 feet to the rock formation that gives the park its name. From here, tradition has it, that the Pootatuck Indian Chief Waramaug’s daughter, Princess Lillinonah, and her lover plunged to their deaths. ”

“Lovers Leap is a scenic area with Native American and colonial history! There is an easy 10-15 minute walk across a historic metal pedestrian bridge over a steep gorge and up a wide gravel path to a terrific rocky overlook with a view of Lake Lillinonah and the surrounding countryside. If you've only got time for a quick hike, this is the one to do!”

“The New Milford River trail currently extends for 5 miles from the Boardman Road entrance to Gaylordsville. It runs for 1½ miles on a crushed, gravel surface through Sega Meadows Park, where it joins the unpaved and lightly-trafficked River Road, and continues for another 3½ miles to the center of Gaylordsville.”
