“Copenhagen’s Hippie “Free Town”- a community that has its own rules and regulations completely independent of the Danish government. Christiania has been famous for many years thanks to the permanent stalls along Pusher Street—or ‘The Green Light District’, as it was once known—that sold all types of cannabis (illegal elsewhere in Denmark)”

“Frederiksberg Gardens: At the main entrance, visitors are officially received by Frederik VI, a former king much beloved by his people, so one is fully aware of entering his garden. From a certain spot in the gardens you can see the elephants in the Zoo.”

Okolica
“The Meatpacking District (Kødbyen) is one of the Copenhagen’s hot spots and there you’ll find the city’s coolest crowd. Apart from the chic restaurants, takeaways and classy and underground bars, special events take place all year round, adding an exciting note to the already vivid atmosphere. Every weekend from April to October, Kødbyens Food and Market takes place in Copenhagen’s Meatpacking District. More than 40 stalls serve dishes with recipes from all over the world, attracting a mixed crowd of Copenhageners and tourists. Especially on hot, sunny days, the place is packed with people relaxing, tasting the various delicacies and refreshing drinks while chatting with each other. It’s a great place to mingle with locals, while enjoying international specialties or the typical Danish smørrebrød.”

“The statue of the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen harbor is one of the top must-see sights in Denmark. Fortunately, it is relatively easy to get here, as only once a visitor has seen this rather small statue is it obvious that not having seen her at all would not really condemn any visit to the Danish capital as a failure. It tends to get very busy at the Little Mermaid but visitors arrive, see, take a photo and leave fairly quickly, although during the high season buses spew out new tour groups every few minutes.”

“The National Gallery of Denmark: The National Gallery of Denmark displays the largest collection of Danish art from the 1700s to the present day, as well as impressive works from around the world. Highlights include the Danish and Nordic art exhibition, which spans 150 years, as well as paintings by the Dutch Masters, Edvard Munch, and Picasso among others. Natural light floods the upper floors giving the gallery a wonderful ambiance. Be sure to pick up a map before exploring all the collections. The café is particularly pleasant and a great place to unwind and soak up the surroundings. ”

Zoo
“To the west of Copenhagen, a little more than three kilometers from the city center, lies the Zoological Garden (Zoologisk Have), founded in 1859 and one of the oldest and largest zoos in Europe. The enclosures imitate the animals' natural surroundings as closely as possible. Here, you can watch polar bears, seals, lions, and other animals being fed. At the entrance, there's an observation tower. Favorite exhibits are the bird lake with storks and pelicans, reptile house, monkey house, and lion's den among others. Of particular interest is the Norman-Foster-designed elephant enclosure. ”

Palace
“Amalienborg Castle: Less than one and a half kilometers from Rosenborg in the Frederiksstaden quarter, you'll find Rosenborg's sister palace, Amalienborg, along with its serene waterfront gardens. The four palaces facing onto the square were originally built as homes for the nobility, but were taken over by the Royal Family after a fire at Christiansborg in 1794. The palace takes its name from Queen Sophie Amalie who had a sumptuous summer retreat on the site, which also burned down in 1689. The area was designed to be a model society with the King as focal point and the aristocracy (the four palaces) surrounding him. Today, Queen Margrethe II and her family occupy the upper story of Christian IX Palace, and the Moltke Palace is used for official purposes. The soldiers of the Royal Guard with their bearskins and blue (on festive occasions red, white, and blue) uniforms are a unique symbol of the city. ”

“This place is cool because people use it, even though it's right next to the King's castle. It has amazing views, especially when the crocuses bloom in the spring. I especially like the botanical garden running down the eastern side”
