“One of my top 3 - especially their Mary Jane mountain. So close to Denver, accessible via Berthod Pass or the Ski Train. Mary Jane has more trees, blue runs; Winter Park is more green and blue, especially fantastic for kids.”

“A trek from house but worth it. Original location in historic mining town Idaho Springs. Colorado style pizza. Has beers on tap from neighboring tommy knocker brewery. ”

Hot Spring
“The closest hot springs is only 40 minutes away in Idaho Springs. We love the Indian Hot Springs with its indoor pool surrounded by greenery and plants. The (clothing optional) adult caves are very therapeutic. It’s a long-standing family run business and is a bit run down and dated but still a gem in our eyes!”

“You've probably enjoyed their award winning beers in bars all over the US, but they whip up a great home-style meal too. Sit on the bar side for an up close glimpse of their actual brewing operations while you enjoy their signature Goldrush Pork Green Chili.”

“VERY Scenic 45mins ride up the mountain to Blackhawk & the Central City casino resort area. *Schedule a Tour at the Coors Brewery while on your way up the 'hill' to the casino.”

“Beautiful mountain drive. You can take this as a long loop heading over to Georgetown for lunch, then take I-70 back to Conifer. Plenty of places to stop and hike. It’s definitely worth as an out and back too! ”

“Newer to town is this contemporary brewery with solid beers and great atmosphere. The windows roll up for nice weather and it is a great spot to view the waterfall. There is also a full bar with craft cocktails, if beer is not your thing. ”

“One of the closer, shorter, beautiful mountain hikes. You can see snow year round at the glacier. It can be a bit rocky, so wear good shoes, but overall a short and easy hike. Kids may need to be watched carefully with the rocks. ”

“Approximately 2 hours from Denver, you can be on the highest paved road in the country - Mount Evans is one of our famous 14ers - peaks above 14,000 feet. Full Disclosure: Planning our first visit in 2020. ;-)”

“We love this local gem in Georgetown. It's 25 minutes west in a quaint mining town. The salsa's and margs are worth the drive and it's close enough for a quick trip and far enough into the mountains to feel worlds away from the city. ”

“This is the closest bar to the cabin. On a nice day, you will see lots of bikers here... and they have one of the biggest collections of shot glasses in the world, so go have a shot at the last shot! ”
