The village has retained its traditional place of cultural and artistic encounter.

While it is literally mobbed in summer, a period should be avoided as far as possible, Sidi Bou Said is still a unique place, also a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

People come here for its exceptional light, the beauty of its picturesque streets highlighted in blue and white, its breathtaking views of the bay of Tunis and its famous cafes.

There is of course the inevitable "coffee of Mats", located in the heart of the village, meeting place for students and artists have always where they serve, always on traditional mats placed on the floor, the famous mint tea with pine nuts.

Dar el Fell: art gallery and guest room
Sidi Bou Said: A picture postcard village on the outskirts of Tunis
Heart for this charming address located close to the of Mats café that offers four guest rooms in an old house converted into an art gallery which exhibits the works of the master of the house, Mounir Letaif.

You will most certainly pleased to see paint or receive his artist friends. And when he releases his brushes, it is to get in the kitchen and cook up delicious Tunisian specialties. A great place that is also the perfect opportunity to learn about the life and Tunisian traditions.
