Miejsce
Surrounded by lush, tropical garden, right on the Pacific Ocean, El Encanto (which means ‘enchantment’) is a rustic retreat that warmly embraces people from all walks of life. Rich in colorful, artistic details, El Encanto calls people to relax and realign as they tap back into their true nature, and allow their creativity and vitality to bloom.

El Encanto has hammocks and a rooftop terrace for yoga, sunning, reading, enjoying a drink at sunset etc, in addition to a mango-shaped terrace in the garden where guests can barbecue and enjoy meals beneath the shade of the amapa trees. When it comes to accessing the beach, simply meander through the private gate at the bottom of the property, and voila, you are there!

Wake to the sounds of birds singing and ocean waves lapping the shore. Breathe fresh, clean air and eat healthy, organic and delicious food. Stroll the beaches, swim, sunbathe and beach-comb for tidal treasures and relax to your core without the stress of sirens, helicopters, air-planes, traffic, deadlines and all of the trappings of urban life. Awaken your receptivity to the bountiful possibilities the cosmos has in store for you!

A NOTE FOR HISTORY BUFFS OUT THERE...
In the 1800’s German entrepreneurs settled in this area and built a hacienda to produce coconut soap and honey for export to Europe. However, at the start of World War II, they abandoned the hacienda and it was auctioned to three businessmen. In 1951, Governor Flores Munoz, who was narrowly defeated for the presidency, bought most of the hacienda for his ocean side retreat. After his death, his family sold the estate in the early 1970’s and since 1987, El Encanto has occupied about a third of this original development.

If we find a moment to chat, I'll invite you over to show you these ruins and the spectacular ancient Huanacaxtle tree (think Avatar or Faraway Tree!) that towers above them.

SURROUNDING AREA…
Located in the state of Nayarit, 86 miles north of Puerto Vallarta and 14 miles south of the historic Port of San Blas, El Encanto is perfectly placed to feel away from everything, and yet readily accessible to local highlights and hotspots. Nayarit enjoys a warm, sunny microclimate that stays green November through May with almost no rainfall through those months, perfect for a sunny winter escape.

For decades surfers have sought the mile-long waves of San Blas, 14 miles to the north. Also, three surrounding estuaries make up the most extensive systems of waterways in Mexico, known worldwide as an excellent location for bird (over 240 species) and wildlife (crocodile) watching. The more athletically inclined can hike to nearby pristine waterfalls and hot springs. Tepic, the capitol city of the state of Nayarit, is just 30 miles east and offers museums, galleries and unique shopping opportunities.

Get ready to be enchanted!
Come and experience the magic of the true Mexico!

Dostęp dla gości

THINGS TO BRING
Bring bug repellant, sun screen, a flash light, sun hat, sandals and also good walking shoes, a swim suit and multiple layers of light weight clothing as it can be cool at night (long sleeved shirt and long pants are a good idea). Also, bring plenty of pesos with you, as the nearest ATM is fourteen miles north of us.

Santa Cruz de Miramar, Nayarit, Meksyk

Santa Cruz de Miramar consists of two adjoining locations, the small pueblo of Santa Cruz and the picturesque beach precinct directly in front of El Encanto, known as Miramar. With approximately 2,000 local residents, predominantly fishermen and farmers, this quaint town offers a uniquely authentic Mexican experience and a soothing seaside respite from busy city life.

There are dozens of inexpensive seafood restaurants in Miramar, just a moment’s walk down the beach from El Encanto, where they serve fish, shrimp, oysters, lobster, octopus and ceviche, caught that same day by fishermen in small outboard motorboats. Small family owned stores have just about everything you might need for a simple, healthy vacation. Should you need more extensive groceries or wish to partake in other classic Mexican street-food fare, you can easily wander into Santa Cruz by road or beach side path.

DAY TRIPS ...
- SAN BLAS
San Blas is a short bus ride from El Encanto. It has a lovely little mercado (public market), a bank with an ATM machine, some colonial architecture and a nice, wide beach with numerous restaurants. It graciously offers visitors it’s friendly and quaint pueblo charm. The Feast Day of San Blas on February 3rd is always a delight.

Note for history buffs!: The historic Port of San Blas was the first mission established by Friar Junipero Serra in the 17th century. It also served as the point of departure for the Spanish colonization of the Philippines. San Blas preserves the flavor of real Mexico, which is enhanced by its 300-year-old buildings. The Huichol Indians of the state often bring their wildly colorful bead and yarn work to sell in the town square.

- TEPIC SHOPPING DAY
Tepic is a thirty mile drive up a scenic, winding road to an altitude of 2700 ft. If you make an early start by bus or taxi the breakfast buffet at the “Quetzatcoatl” vegetarian restaurant is exceptional. You may shop in the city’s three mercados and many stores. There is also an interesting archeological museum, a craft museum and numerous galleries specializing in Huichol Indian art. Businesses close for siesta between 1:30pm and 4pm offering an opportunity to enjoy lunch, visit the cathedral, the historic graveyard and to stroll the colonial streets before needing to catch the last bus or collectivo taxi back to El Encanto.

- LA TOVARA BOAT RIDE
Just ten miles North of El Encanto is part of one of the most extensive inland waterways in Mexico. “La Tovara” estuary is teeming with birds and other wildlife (crocodiles) especially visible in the mornings from small motor boat tours. Reflections in the still water of the bromeliad-covered branches and gnarled roots of the mangrove trees are exceptionally picturesque. There is also a restaurant at the head of the spring where guides allow up to an hour for breakfast and swimming in the warm pool amidst the turtles and tropical fish.

- EL CORA WATERFALL
Nayarit is a small state rich in water resources. Some lovely waterfalls are located in the area the best being that of El Cora which is either a four hour hike or a one hour drive and then a half hour hike down a steep path. The cascade drops ninety feet into a pristine pool. Remote and serene it is an ideal location for a picnic and skinny dip during the week!

Artistic with a sense of humor. Humanitarian and kindly but with a ( not-too-much nonsense/get it done already) attitude. ie; a double Pisces with a Virgo moon which translates to a fantastic dreamer that can accomplish his dreams! I love it that interesting people come to visit and that they relax to their cores. They then return to their regular lives refreshed and inspired; the true beauty of Mexico (and El Encanto; "the enchantment") having worked it's magic once again.
