This is a perfect place to escape from social isolation - a studio apartment with a hot outdoor jacuzzi (working!), and a separate kitchen.

The Beaches - the most charming Toronto neighbourhood. This super clean, basement apartment is in a beautiful 1917 house. It's nestled in between dozens of parks. The apartment has a full kitchen, amenities, and parking. The streetcar (trolley) gets you to the centre of the city in a few minutes.

Guests can sit in our garden and use the jacuzzi, too.

Miejsce
We have a luxurious, 2-sink bathroom kept meticulously clean; a full kitchen with an area to relax and eat; and a studio room with an extra space in case you have a third person.

We also provide a top-quality play/sleeping pen in case you have a young human with you who needs a place to sleep.

Dostęp dla gości
Guests can use the basement apartment and parts of the back yard and garden, as well as the jacuzzi, which is in the back yard.

JACUZZI USE RULES

OUR MAINTENANCE
We treat the water with cleaning chemicals regularly, including chlorine, among other things, so this tends to kill off bacteria and clean the water. We want to keep it as clean and pure as possible. We change the water regularly, but on a schedule.

HOW TO USE THE JACUZZI

OPENING AND CLOSING
Open the top by first lifting the lid over the iron bar, and then lifting the iron bar to open it all the way. Reverse this to close it.

Don't physically pull the lid off the jacuzzi. Aside from being totally unnecessary, it will likely damage the cover. It's a thousand dollars to replace the cover.

THE CONTROLS
Don't drop or raise the temperature with the up and down arrows without, before you finish, resetting it to where it was. It's better not to adjust it at all. It's always preset to 39.5 C, and if you drop it, you need to remember to raise it back up before you leave or you could cripple the jacuzzi for future use.

Do NOT to press and turn on "ECONO" - this basically turns the heat way, way down, and it can take a very long time - like hours, or a day or two - for the heat to get back up.

JETS
The two top left buttons on the panel are for jets. Try to just touch these, if you need to. The controls for the local jets are around the tub, and are physical turning knobs.

BASIC RESPECT RULES

SHOWERING: Please shower before you use the hot tub. The jacuzzi is not, in fact, a bathtub.

CURTAINS: If you use the curtains, be sure to open everything and tie them back up when you're done. The wind can blow everything around and make a huge mess.

CLOSE IT: Keep the lid closed when not in use or when you leave, to keep the heat in and to keep things out, like leaves and bugs. Try to keep the area clean and tidy.

NO GUESTS: Only the people who are listed as staying should be using the jacuzzi. Because this is a quiet neighbourhood, we have a strict no-parties policy. Also, it's for general safety and security. We can't have non-guests around or using our house. It's at least vital to ask us whether or not it's okay, in given circumstances.

If there are violations of this, we may have to ask all of the guests to leave immediately.

RISK RULES

SUPERVISION: Never leave children unattended, even briefly. Really.

INEBRIATION: Don't be hammered or stoned when using the jacuzzi. Besides being dangerous, it's also possible to suffer heat exhaustion and even stroke if you misuse a big tub of very hot water. When you're not clear-headed, you may not feel it coming.

HARD RULES AND DAMAGE

Because we've had issues in the past, we've had to come up with some rules.

Violations of these very serious rules means you'll likely face a damage claim on Air BnB.

1) NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE WATER
A couple of guests have ignored this in the past, and we weren't sure after one group left whether there wasn't a full case of beer poured in. Any contamination requires total replacement and reheating of the water. This is hugely expensive and time-consuming . It can take several days to get it back up and working. Needless to say, this is a rude and really abusive thing to do.

2) ABSOLUTELY NO BUBBLE BATH OR OTHER SUBSTANCES!
Don't use outside liquids or anything in the water. Bubblebath is, for example, terrible - it can actually damage the pump and other mechanisms. No soaps or anything that can damage the jacuzzi or foul the water. Also it can take a complete emptying and intensive scrubbing to get the residue of this off of the tub and everything it's spilled into.

Don't bring other liquids into the water, of any kind. It's not cute, and it's not a little thing.

3) NOISE AND PRIVACY
We live in a quiet residential neighbourhood, with good neighbours who respect our privacy. That means that our guests need to respect theirs, too. The jacuzzi is in the back yard, and others can hear (and sometimes see) what's going on. Please, no loud parties or music, and no shouting, yelling, or party-like activities. We really have to insist on this, as we've had complaints before.

4) PHYSICAL DAMAGE
Sadly, we've had to make rules about this. We've had guests who have done substantial damage to the jacuzzi. We're not sure how it happens - some of it is shocking and bizarre - but it can be serious. This has included breaking the physical jet controls, tearing off the control panel plate (!), ripping the very expensive, custom-order jacuzzi cover, breaking vents and guard parts, and more.

Any physical damage that happens to the jacuzzi will be part of a serious damage charge for Air BnB guests, and we'll be submitting claims immediately. Guests who do this kind of crazy damage will be charged for it, plus the time it takes to repair the damage. In the case of custom parts, this can take weeks, or longer.

Lokalizacja

Toronto, Ontario, Kanada

Right next to the downtown core, our place in in the Beach, Toronto's original getaway community. It feels like a small 1920's town surrounded by the city - cute cafes, shops, gorgeous parks, and kilometres of sandy beaches.

The area has so many parks, from the ground it seems like it's surrounded. It's just a ten minute walk or three minute bike ride to the beach, through more pretty parks.

There's a large Cineplex cinema across the street, lots of cafes, restaurants and little shops and stores along Queen Street, and tons of tasty food in Gerrard's Little India. A short walk away is the Danforth, with its endless series of Greek, Japanese and other restaurants.

There's even a bike share rental in the park across the street.
