Our Hideaway is secluded on 65 wooded acres, looking over expansive views of the Ventana Wilderness and Santa Lucia Highlands. It's is a short drive to restaurants, wine tasting, hiking, Carmel Beach, Monterey & the Big Sur Coastline. You’ll love the loft's natural light, the view from the deck, a private hiking trail and the coziness of tiny house living. Please send a personal message with your reservation request and read all the details of our listing. We look forward to meeting you!

Miejsce
The Hideaway is a tiny off-grid cabin, 144sq ft footprint, with a lounge space, kitchen, loft bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, and a deck to sit on and enjoy the view. With the serene sounds of nature, this space is great for a quiet weekend away from the city, a beautiful hub from which to explore Carmel Valley, Monterey and Big Sur, or a peaceful artist retreat. The efficient kitchen is perfect for preparing simple meals. Cooking utensils, dishes, pots and pans, a refrigerator, gas stove and a few simple ingredients are provided (olive oil, coconut oil, vinegar, spices, etc.) . A french press, coffee, tea, milk, almond milk and simple breakfast items also provided to make your wake up enjoyable! Consider stopping for groceries prior to your arrival at the cabin, especially if your stay is only for one night. Once you arrive, you won't want to leave!

You'll love the private bath house with a rain shower and the poo with the stunning view! The Low-Power System does not allow for the use of hair dryers or curling irons. Linens are provided, as well as basic amenities.

A gas heater keeps the cabin toasty warm in the winter, and fans are provided in the summer months. There is no air conditioning, but usually a cool breeze at night to keep the cabin comfortable.

A binder inside the cabin explains important details about the cabin, as well as dining & activity recommendations in the area.

Take a walk up the hill from the cabin and experience our farm! Meet our sheep, goat, chickens, dogs & cat, and check out our organic garden and orchard. We also have 7 Honey Bee Hives on the property, so please be sure to bring your medication or Epipen in case of allergies.

Dostęp dla gości
Guests will enjoy the entire cabin and attached bath house to themselves, as well as the surrounding 5 acre landscape, including a hiking trail and lookout spots. A small parking space is available adjacent to the cabin. No RVs, campers, hauling trucks or trailers are allowed.

Inne ważne rzeczy
Guests will have cell service on our property. Wireless access is also available for guests. We ask guests to limit streaming of videos, as we have a limited data plan with the wireless hotspot.

Guests must arrive for check in before dark. GPS will take you past our entrance because our location is not accurately marked, so guests MUST follow a custom navigation link we will provide from their starting location, as well as our written directions to find our property.

Our property is a 13min drive from Carmel Valley Village. The drive is on narrow, winding country roads which are very dark at night. The last couple of miles climb a mountain with some tight curves and steep sections. Our driveway is gravel and also steep. Please do not plan to travel into town to restaurants or weddings for heavy drinking and expect to drive back to the cabin safely. Drive safely and use pull out spots to pull over if locals are driving faster behind you. If you are renting a car for your trip, consider one with more power and good traction for your adventures in Carmel Valley and Big Sur.

Be aware that your stay will be IN NATURE! Stay alert and aware as you walk on trails - our property is FULL of Wildlife! Sturdy walking shoes are suggested for hiking. Look out for poison oak, snakes and spiders. We have 7 Honey Bee Hives on the property, so PLEASE be sure to bring your medications or EPIPEN in case of allergies. Please do not leave food outside or on the deck. Bring your camera to snap some stunning nature shots!

We are a couple in our early 30's, homesteading on our family's 65 acre ranch. We love raising animals, growing our own food and living on the land in California's beautiful Central Coast. We are artists, yogis, builders, and we enjoy creating beautiful spaces for ourselves and others to enjoy. Building community, engaging with new people, and making new friends from all over the world are reasons we love hosting with Airbnb!

We greet our guests upon their arrival. We'll introduce you to the features of the cabin and answer any questions you may have about your stay and the area's attractions. There is an instructional binder inside the cabin with all the important information about the off-grid features and local recommendations. We do not live on site at the cabin, but are 3 minutes and a phone call or message away. You may see us walking our two Great Pyrenees working dogs, who are very friendly. We're happy to chat and get to know our guests, but are respectful of guests' privacy. Our dog, Leo, is usually the first to greet our guests. He likes hugs :)
