General information

I have been running Little Barn as a bed and breakfast for 6 years to people from all over the world and various corners of the UK. Everyone staying has loved being here so I do hope you enjoy your stay.

Here is some information which might be useful, if you need to know anything else do please ask. There is a full information pack in the Barn together with local information leaflets about local places of interest.

Cakebreade (the house adjacent to Little Barn) is a 16th Century cottage, one of the oldest in the village with later additions. The barn, before conversion, was originally an apple store.

There is a strict non smoking policy so please do not smoke in the barn or outside the barn or the adjacent land to Cakebreade - thank you. I am afraid it is not possible to accommodate pets or children.

Wi-Fi:
Code: EE-7ty75t
Password: honey-fold-red
(this is the same internet connection as Cakebreade – both internet and mobile do not always perform perfectly due to rural location)

Equipment

You have been provided with one key for the barn doors please be sure to leave it on the table in barn when you leave.
Little Barn has a tv with dvd, dab radio, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, sewing kit, hairdryer, iron, ironing board and of course central heating .
All bedding, towels, toiletries and bathrobes are provided

Continental Breakfast

All coffee, tea making equipment, milk, sparkling water, breakfast cereals, fruit, yoghurts and toast making and pastries will be available in the barn together with your cutlery & crockery.
If you have any food allergies please let me know when you arrive (if you haven’t already let me know in advance of arrival).

Temperature

Depending on the time of year there is a tower fan to provide cool air (with remote control) and lockable plantation shutters which can allow air in - leaving main barn doors open - as you choose.

For warmth there is central heating which will be set for you. The large radiator has a thermostat control which can be altered by you – please do not alter the main boiler settings.

Plumbing
Please observe sign relating to use of bin in shower room – the plumbing is archaic and easily gets blocked

Safety
There is a first aid kit in the large cupboard – right hand side.

Local GP Eversden/Comberton Surgery 01223 262500
CAMDOC (out of hours call service) 01223 464242

Local information

Orwell
Is an ancient agricultural village, now with a mixed age population of approximately 1200 with a thriving community of 18 groups/associations appealing to a range of interests.
There is a community owned and managed orchard to walk through/picnic in (about 400 yards away) off Town Green Road past Chequers pub and Methodist Hall). At the top of Town Green Road behind the church (footpath to right of church) is a steep climb to The Clunch Pit – worth a walk and a look.

And the Wimpole Hall estate, historic house and farm and 2,000 acres or parkland (all National Trust) is only 1/4 mile away.
