Standing on the River South Tyne, not far from its source, Garrigill remains today very much a thriving community. Sitting around the village green, visitors will find an inn, post office and village store serving the local residents and very welcome visitors. Attracting walkers of all abilities to the area, the Pennine Way passes through the village on its way from Dufton via Cross Fell, Great Dun Fell and on to Alston. From the doorstep of The Barn, guests will be able to enjoy the dramatic landscape of the North Pennines. Cyclists can enjoy England’s most popular long distance cycle route, the Coast to Coast, which passes through the village, and the area around Garrigill which offers some excellent cycling.
